French Oak Chips


XTRACHÊNE oak chips are a highly versatile and cost-effective winemaking tool for red or white wine. For quick and even extractions, they can be added during fermentation, during aging, or as a “finishing” oak treatment. Our chips are available in 5 lb. or 20 lb. quantities.

Dosage: 20-30 lbs. per 1,000 gallons, or 240 – 360 grams per hl.

Recommended contact time: A minimum of 2 weeks is recommended (We also recommend tasting regularly).
